Trying to find some good longboard brands can be quite hard when there are so many brands on the market. Longboards are gaining in popularity as the months go by, and more and more people are interested in buying a longboard of their own. Longboards are being used by many celebrities, which has increased the profile of the longboard and yoy can see them being used by members of the public for commuting to campuses and places of work. Described below are three good longboard brands that you should consider buying from.

So what are some good longboard brands?

Sector 9

Sector 9 is one of the biggest names in the manufacturing of longboards today. The brand has become popular among longboarders due to the quality of the products they produce aswell as their unique designs. The company started off in 1993 in Southern California, and has established itself into a global brand. It offers a wide variety of boards in many styles for downhill riding, carving and cruising. The boards have unique designs and very colorful artwork to suit all tastes. Many of these are made of bamboo and consist of 78A, 69 mm wheels and a larger wheelbase. The trucks range between 9 and 10 inches in size, and there are standard top mount and drop through truck mount styles available. Most of these boards have PDP Abec 5 bearings, although Abec 9, Abec 7 and ceramic bearings can also be found in some of the Sector 9 boards. All Sector 9 longboards offer smooth rides at high speeds.

Quest is another of the good longboard brands that we recommend. Quest longboards have always been known for their performance, style and features. The boards are perfect for beginners as well as experienced longboarders. The prices of Quest longboards are quite reasonable in our view and the boards are long-lasting, with some really elegant designs. Quest produce boards for every type of longboarding from downhill riding to cruising, aswell as freeriding. Many of these are made of eco-friendly materials, such as bamboo. The decks are generally made of multi-ply hardwood maple, and sufficiently flexible to maintain speeds on even rough terrains. The wheels are generally long-lasting, made of polyurethane and 70 X 51 mm in dimensions, with a hardness of 80A. The 7” aluminum trucks are light in weight, and rugged in form to prevent wheel bite. Quest longboards often have smooth ABEC 5 bearings, which offer a lot of precision.

A list of good longboard brands cannot be completed without taking Atom longboards into account. Atom boards allow longboarders to ride as low to the surface as possible, thus maintaining their stability. Whether you do freeriding, downhill riding, cruising or carving, Atom have a longboard for you. Their longboards usually have full maple laminated decks with abstract designs, with some graphic artwork depending on the longboard you choose. The wheels have 78A durometer and 65 mm diameters, and grip to the surface you are riding, aswell as offering a smooth ride. Atom longboards often have reverse kingpin trucks consisting of 245 mm axles. You can find double barrel bushings, which offer stable rides aswell. Atom longboards also come with ABEC 5 to ABEC 9 bearings which ensures stability at high speeds, making it safer for longboarders who wish to ride their longboards at great speeds.
