Volador 40inch Maple Longboard Review
This great looking 40-Inch longboard cruiser quickly became one of our own personal favorites when we tested it. We feel that this is the ideal board for longboard beginners, but it also has the features that more experienced users will be looking for. Commuting with the Volador 40 Inch Maple Longboard is an absolute breeze, and the board really takes the stress out of getting from A to B.
The maple used in the longboard is a unique 8-ply hard maple, which is cold-pressed. This gives the deck strength, meaning that it won’t break at the slightest impact. The manufacturers have been careful to create a design that not only looks great, but also guards against any wheel bite that you may experience. The board has a concave shape, which makes it perfect for longboard riders who like fast accelerations and paddling.
You can tell from the first ride that the longboard is made with high quality materials. For example, the trucks of the board are made of sleek Aluminimum alloy, and the bolts are made of tough carbon steel. The bearings are manufactured using chrome steel, and we noticed that the high rebound PU wheels offered a stable and safe ride.
The artwork of the Volador 40 Inch Maple Longboard is also very good. There are currently many different designs available in this model, including:
Below is an example of the “Meditation” design:
You will notice that these designs look quite “old school”, and this makes them quite different from some of the other boards we have reviewed. This means these boards will make the rider stand out from their peers, but there is enough room for the owner of the board to make or add their own designs to the board over time. The manufacturers have taken time and effort to create a durable graphic that will not fade with use.
The manufacturers have also taken care to create a stable cruiser, thanks to the use of a 32 inch wheel base, and 45 degree trucks. We found the deck to be wide enough to offer a safe and stable ride (approximately 9 inches). When it comes to turning and cutting corners, it does very well, but does so without compromising your safety.
The manufacturers have also focused on making the board as environmentally friendly as they can, by only using sustainable woods, and the glue that they use with the board is methanl-free. Any off cuts that are collected within the factory are recycled, and not simply taken to landfill.
Should You Buy the Volador 40 Inch Maple Longboard?
Yes, we certainly think you should buy the Volador 40inch Maple Longboard. Not only is it competitively priced, it looks great, is environmentally friendly, and offers a safe cruising experience! We would highly recommend you purchase the Volador Longboard Trucks Combo Set with this board.
